Troubleshooting

Most issues come down to one of a few things. Find your symptom below. If none of these fix it, the status page shows live health, and you can always reach us.

The tools do not appear after connecting

1. Confirm the server URL is exactly https://mcp.creatorland.com/mcp.
2. Make sure the sign-in finished. The connector opens a Creatorland sign-in in your browser, complete it and return to your client.
3. Refresh your connectors (or restart the client). The tools list loads once authentication completes.

If it still shows nothing, remove the connector and add it again from scratch, then complete sign-in fully. See the quickstart for the step-by-step connect flow.

Sign-in fails, or loops back to the start

The MCP signs you in through Creatorland, so you need a free Creatorland account on the same email you sign in with. If you do not have one yet, create one free at creatorland.com/login, then reconnect. If the popup is blocked, allow popups for your client and try again.

"Out of credits" or an upgrade prompt

The free tier includes 250 credits a month, no card. Read tools are cheap (1 to 2 credits), market intelligence is 5, and creator outreach is 10. If you hit the limit, you get a clear upgrade envelope rather than an error. Review your usage and plans on the pricing page or upgrade from your dashboard.

A search comes back with few or no creators

That is a successful result with a guidance block, not an error. The guidance lists which filters to relax or which dimensions to narrow. To widen recall:

• Drop the most restrictive filter (a tight follower band, a specific city, an exact niche).
• Set precision to broad, which leans on semantic recall and treats filters as soft boosts.
• Loosen geo, a country is broader than a city.

A query is slow or seems to hang

Searches normally return in a few seconds. If a brief is a single very common word (for example just "creators"), add more detail so the search has something specific to rank. If a query is consistently slow, retry once, then check the status page.

Results look out of date

Every result carries a data_as_of timestamp and a freshness block. The corpus refreshes on a schedule, so some profiles lag the live platforms. To require recent data, pass data_freshness_days in your filters and the search will only return creators seen within that window.

Outreach did not send

Creator outreach is confirmation-gated and sent by the Creatorland Matchmaking agent (from matchmaker@creatorland.com), not from your own inbox. After you request a connection, check progress with the connection-status and list-connections tools. Note that some creators have outreach turned off, and a request only sends once you confirm it. A lookalike search returns "refused"

Lookalike mode needs a seed that resolves to a real creator or post with a stored embedding. A seed that matches nothing, or whose embedding is not yet computed, returns a successful refused envelope rather than an error. Try a different seed, a known handle or a specific post URL.
